What a fantastic time we had at the Staveley Ice Skating Rink! There were plenty of laughs, a few wobbles and lots of determination. It was awesome to see the everyone helping and encouraging one another out on the ice.

Our senior boys were really interested in learning about how the rink is run and what goes on behind the scenes.

A huge thank you to the team at Staveley for having us and giving us such a great experience, how lucky are we to have this in our back yard!

And of course, we had to finish the day off with s’mores! 🔥🍫⛸️

✨ Happy Matariki! ✨

We're looking back on the wonderful way we celebrated Matariki on the last day of term. It was a special day filled with learning, laughter, and coming together as a school community.

We started the morning by sharing hot chocolates before getting busy in the kitchen, making pumpkin soup, chicken noodle soup, and even trying our hand at fry bread! We also learnt how to use a bread maker while discovering the stories of the Matariki stars. We explored Tupuānuku, Tupuārangi, Waitī, and Waitā, learning how they are connected to the food that comes from the land, the sky, our rivers, and the ocean.

Throughout the day, we created stars as we learnt about what each of the Matariki stars represents. In the afternoon, we made kites to celebrate Ururangi, the star connected to the winds, along with remembrance stars for Pōhutukawa and wishing stars for Hiwa-i-te-Rangi.

It was a day full of rich learning, shared kai, creativity, and connection—taking time to remember those who have gone before us, celebrate the present, and look ahead with hope for the year to come.

Mānawatia a Matariki – wishing all of our whānau a joyful Matariki and a wonderful term ahead. 🌟💙

💙 Jumping June Celebration! 💙

After a month of practising and building our skipping skills, our ākonga came together on Tuesday 30th June to celebrate all of their hard work at our Jumping June event.
Our tamariki proudly demonstrated the skills they had learnt throughout the term, challenged themselves to see how many skips they could complete in one minute, and performed a skipping routine they had created together. There was plenty of excitement as everyone had a go at skipping on the long rope, and some of our brave jumpers even gave Double Dutch a try!

A huge thank you to our wonderful whānau and community for supporting our fundraising efforts. Every donation helps the Heart Foundation continue its vital work in funding life-saving heart research, promoting heart health, and supporting healthier futures for New Zealanders.

It was fantastic to see so much perseverance, teamwork, encouragement, and smiling faces throughout the day. We are so proud of everyone for giving it a go and celebrating how much they have grown over the month. 💙👏

📚✨ A little throwback to the end of our recent Book Week! Our Book Character Dress-Up Day was the perfect way to celebrate, with so many creative costumes and smiling faces.

A big thank you to everyone who supported our Book Fair by purchasing books. Your generosity has helped us choose some fantastic new books for our school library, and our tamariki are already enjoying them.

To finish the day, we put our book knowledge to the test with a Book Character Quiz and went on a Book Treasure Hunt! It was a wonderful way to celebrate the joy of reading! 📖💛
