What a tūmeke day at Poolburn yesterday for our Cross Country! We're so proud of all our tamariki for giving it a go; for their determination, positivity and resilience. It was great to spend a day in the sun with all our whānau - thanks to everyone for coming along and supporting us!

Special thanks to Billee Marsh for marshalling - we really appreciate your help in directing the tamariki!

We were excited to have Mark Inglis, explorer, adventurer and mountaineer visit the tamariki to share stories of his accomplishments. They were impressed with how he persevered, never gave up, set goals and worked hard to achieve them. They listened to Mark share stories about staying positive when he was challenged and about not having excuses, but working to overcome adversity.

Some of their favourite quotes from today were:
"I liked to do hard things"
"You can't wish you way to the top, you have to work hard for it".

He left tamariki excited and eager to learn more!

The first load of books kindly donated by our fab 'FOTS' group have gone out to the tamariki today. The tamariki were buzzing as they looked through and then chose books to take home.
