Last Thursday, the Cromwell College Students Against Dangerous Driving (SADD) Committee collaborated with AA to provide our Year 7–8 students with bike lights.
The Cromwell College SADD Committee’s goal is to help make our roads safer for everyone, including drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and scooter users. As part of this goal, the SADD Committee organised for AA to donate bike lights to help our younger students stay visible and safe when riding.
A big thank you to AA for supporting our SADD Committee and helping us promote safer roads in our community!

Huge shoutout to the incredible Grab The Rein program and the amazing team making it happen! 🐴✨

Our rangatahi are so fortunate to have this opportunity. Working alongside horses is such a powerful experience—giving our young people the chance to build their mana, strengthen their teamwork, and develop a genuine, deep understanding of these magnificent animals. Watching them grow in confidence and master new skills each session is amazing.

A massive thank you to Paddy Henderson and Sophie Mathieson for their outstanding leadership, and to awesome volunteer Fraser Scott for dedicating his time and energy to support the team. The care and dedication you all bring create an empowering environment where our rangatahi can truly thrive.

We are so proud of our young people for stepping up, working together, and getting out of their comfort zones.

What an absolutely amazing performance at Murihiku Polyfest! Our rangatahi took to the stage and as usual, completely blew us away. The endless hours of dedication, practice, and pure commitment leading up to today shone through in every single note and movement. We are so incredibly proud of every single one of you.

A massive showcase like this does not happen without the help from the people behind the scenes. A huge, heartfelt thank you to Janelle McDonald for all your mahi in getting our rōpū to the festival—we appreciate everything you do so much. Thank you to Sarah Hope for your support with harmonising, as the group sounded absolutely beautiful! Thank you also to parents and whanau for supporting us on the trip and at the performance. We appreciate you. A massive shout-out to our amazing senior students, Esther and Sam, for supporting our first Cromwell College Pasifika Group performance. It looked incredible on stage.

This event also marks a deeply special milestone, as it is the final Murihiku Polyfest for our Tumuaki, Matua Stretch. Over his 18 years with our kura, Matua Stretch has been instrumental in growing Te Reo and championing all things Te Ao Māori and Pasifika. As our faithful guitar player for years, he has dedicated countless hours to supporting, encouraging, and inspiring our young people. Thank you Matua.

Ka rawe rangatahi mā! You represented our kura with immense pride, passion, and heart. We are so incredibly proud.

🙌 Empowering Our Students: Endorsement Breakfasts & Career Sessions! 🌟

Over recent weeks, our kura has been hosting special Endorsement Breakfasts and Career Sessions—initiatives designed to help our senior students excel in their current studies, navigate real-world challenges, and prepare for life after Cromwell College.

A massive thank you to former Head Students Annabelle Campbell and Kerry Woods (Hyndman) It was wonderful having you back to share your post-school journeys. Your amazing advice on dealing with setbacks, the beauty of growing up in Cromwell, leaving home, and embracing unexpected paths gave our students such valuable perspective.

We were also thrilled to welcome Mike Casey from Electric Cherries! Mike shared his amazing expertise in horticulture and his focus on a sustainable future. He inspired us to be proactive in creating solutions to reduce the impact of the climate crisis, sharing key learnings from his own work. He even left our students with a challenge: Can you, in a sense, "electrify" your parents and your households? ⚡️

To Kerry, Annabelle, and Mike: we are so very grateful for your time, energy, and dedication to supporting our students. Thank you so much for inspiring the next generation!

All the best to our incredible Kapa Haka rōpū as they take the stage at Murihiku Polyfest in Invercargill today!

A massive thank you to Mr Stretch, Mrs McDonald, our Senior Tuakana and our amazing whānau for all your hard work, lunchtime practices, and endless support behind the scenes. Getting our group to Invercargill has taken a huge effort, and we couldn't have done it without your dedication and mahi.
