To celebrate New Zealand Sign Language Week, the Year 7 team welcomed two very special visitors this morning. Nick Linton and his hearing dog, Cruz, joined us to share the important role hearing dogs play, why they are needed, and what it means to have a hearing dog as part of the family.

Artist of the week: Max Stroud, Pencil drawing

Our Year 12 Music students enjoyed a visit from former Cromwell College student Louis Maugham on Friday, who shared his experiences studying for a Bachelor of Contemporary Music at SIT.

Louis gave students an insight into the realities of pursuing music as a career, highlighting both the opportunities and the dedication required. His message that a career in music is achievable with passion and hard work was inspiring and encouraging for our aspiring musicians.

This week, Cromwell College music students got a masterclass from the brilliant Jazmine Mary.

Through the NZ Music Commission’s mentoring programme, Jazmine worked with our Year 7 to 13 bands and individual composers on the realities of music production and performance. Our students left inspired and ready to take their music to the next level.
