- DISCOVERY -
Today our Year 4’s joined our Year 0-3’s and assisted in the set up and pack down sharing awesome leadership. Students engaged in a range of activities involving taking turns, and supporting others as part of our village. Thanks to Teacher Regina for photos.

- EIS TECHNOLOGY-
Today was the Marie Murphy Technology Challenge at Waianiwa School. We were very fortunate to send two teams for Years 7&8 to participate today.

The Year 7&8 teams had to design and build a water tower structure - with enough strength to hold up a 1.5l water bottle - using newspaper, tape, and string. A mystery challenge for the Year 7&8's included building a marble run track with 4 changes in direction.

Although unplaced both teams showed brilliant problem solving skills, teamwork, and our school values in action. Ka pai te mahi to our amazing students.

- EIS CHALLENGE -
Today was the Marie Murphy Technology Challenge at Waianiwa School. We were very fortunate to send two teams for Years 5&6.

Our 5&6 students had to construct a launcher to fire a ping pong ball using paper, rubber bands, and popsicle sticks. The Year 5&6 mystery challenge involved constructing a bridge with a clearance height of 15cm.

Both teams showed brilliant problem solving skills, teamwork, and our school values in action. Ka pai te mahi to our amazing students. Well done on taking the trophy this year Year 5&6!

- S P E E C H -
A huge congratulations to our talented speakers who represented us so proudly at the third stage on their journey towards the Grand Final!

Stanley had the audience in stitches with his entertaining speech, “Books – Why You Should Read!” While he was just slightly over time, his confidence, and humour certainly made their mark!

Della and Angus also shone, delivering thoughtful and engaging speeches that connected history with everyday life. Della inspired with “Sir Edmund Hillary – How Anybody Can Become Extraordinary,” while Angus impressed with “Imagine Being Related to a Superhero.”

The results were fantastic, with Angus placing 2nd 🥈 and Della 3rd 🥉, earning them both a well-deserved place in the next round!

Mīharo mahi, Stanley, Della and Angus — you represented our school with confidence, character, and plenty of talent!

👍working together to complete a Kmart challenge selecting our latest school prizes
