UC Swallowing Rehabilitation Clinic and Research Laboratory The Latest and the Greatest from the University of Canterbury Swallowing Rehabilitation Clinic and Research Laboratory

The UC Swallowing Rehabilitation Clinic and Research Laboratory is located in Ōtautahi (Christchurch), in the South Island of Aotearoa (New Zealand). The centre is a state of the art facility that helps people with swallowing and communication disorders recover function or improve sufficiently to gain the best possible quality of life. Our research focuses on the investigation of cortical contributions to swallowing recovery following brain injury and the development of neurorehabilitation approaches, particularly those that maximise recover through biofeedback modalities. Our clinical director is Lucy Greig while the lab is supervised by Prof Maggie-Lee Huckabee and Dr Phoebe Macrae, with great contributions from a number of research and clinical colleagues. The heart of the lab comes from a great group of student researchers who are completing final year research projects, summer studentships, master's and doctoral degrees!
