We love visiting our local Kura!

Our tamariki enjoyed their trip to Te Kura O Paeraki - Mt Pleasant School today to watch the Year 3 & 4 students film about the story “Tangaroa’s Gift” by Mere Whaanga and Ngawini Kereru.

It was an awesome way for our tamariki to connect with the children at school - we saw tuakana-teina in action!

Our tamariki enjoy hearing and retelling the stories and symbols of their own and other cultures, he kōrero p**i.

A huge thank you to Room 11 for creating such an awesome movie for us to watch - kia pai to mahi 👏👏👏

He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata! He tangata! He tangata! What is the most important thing in the world? It is people! It is people! It is people!

This whakatauki talks to the importance of human connection and relationships. This is what creates community and enables people to flourish. It values the human being in all of us and reminds us of what is most important – not money, not success, not a job or a thing – it is people.

❤️❤️❤️This is what we are all about!

The Joy of Play
When we adults remember back to the BEST play of our childhood, most often there weren't any adults present. That meant we could make it up as we went, no one was 'trying to teach us anything', we learned by trying things out. When what we were planning didn't work out with the first prototype, we hung in there until we came up with something that DID work.

Reflecting on that now, we can see we learnt HEAPS; not by having someone else telling us how to do it because they had been on the planet longer than we had, but by working it out ourselves because that's the specialty of the unfolding human brain. Our job is to see our children have the stuff to play with, stuff they can MAKE things with.

Happy school days to this happy pair, our longest attending foxy children. They started with us when they were 4 months old and along with our Foxy Preschool have just celebrated their 5th birthday. They have moved on from traffic jams in the Nursery tunnel to foot spas and helping out in the office.

Ngā mihi nui kia koe i tō rangi tuatahi i tēnei Kura!
Congratulations on your first day of school!
We will miss you both Sylvia and Nikita xxoo
