🌿 Free Espalier Fruit Tree Workshop & Hügelkultur Working Bee 🌿

Come along to Edible Streets and join us in the food forest this Sunday July 19th

10:00am–12:00pm – Help us continue building our hügelkultur pile with Canterbury Permaculture Institute . It's a great opportunity to learn how hügelkultur works and how it can improve soil health and water retention.

12:00–12:30pm – Free lunch.

12:30–2:00pm – Join our free hands-on espalier fruit tree workshop, where we'll be pruning and training fruit trees for the season ahead.

We'll be demonstrating a simple, affordable espalier system using bamboo stakes, showing how you can create productive fruiting walls without expensive frames or complicated setups.

You'll learn:
🍎 How to train fruit trees into compact espalier forms
🌿 How to prune for healthy growth and better fruit production
🎋 How to use simple supports to guide young trees
🏡 How espalier works in small gardens, rentals, pots, and community spaces

This workshop is completely free because we believe everyone should have access to practical food-growing knowledge, regardless of income.

Come for the whole day or just the fruit tree workshop—everyone is welcome!
