Linwood Toastmasters

Last night the theme for the evening was 50 years of Apple. Our Toastmaster Mark regaled us with tails from Steve Jobs and other Apple trivia. We had one speech last night from Alasdair who spoke on the increasing cost of living. Tabletopics was on the theme of technology. A special thank-you to our 2 guests Najeve and Kieran for joining us last night.

On Thursday we had a theme of fruit with our Toastmaster Mark regailing us with facts about different fruits. We had one speech by Beth who encouraged us to send our children to private school. Tabletopics also tied in with the fruit theme with our Tabletopics master George getting us to talk on well known sayings connected with fruit.

George was our Toastmaster on Thursday with the theme of origin of phrases. We had two speeches, one from Alasdair on the topic of blood tests and his fear of them and an impromptu speech by special guest and former member Sofia catching us up on what she has been upto since moving up to Auckland. Tabletopics was on a range of deeper questions that got us all thinking. Special thanks to Sofia for popping back in to Toastmasters and for doing an impromptu speech.

Last night the theme for the evening was festivals with our Toastmaster Gyaney sharing about some of the festival days in Nepal which he enjoyed.
We had 2 speeches last night. One from Daniel explaining the origin of black Friday and a speech from George investigating the reason for turning off your cellphone when your on a phone; is it really necessary? Beth was our Tabletopics master and she gave us 6 Tabletopics on a variety of topics.

Hi everyone, just a reminder there is no Toastmaster meeting tomorrow due to the long weekend for showday.

The theme for last night was pets (inspired by Beths pet cat Victoria) we had one speech by George and an educational by John. Tabletopics was also on the topic of pets with 6 entertaining impromptu speeches. A big thank-you to Charlie,Mark and Alison who were our guests this evening and especially to Mark who did a guest general evaluation!

Our Toastmaster last night was George who spoke on weird and wacky election results. We had a speech by Daniel about Pike River Mine and an educational from John. Tabletopics continued the theme of elections. Thank you to our guests Christine David and John for helping contribute to a good night.

Last night the theme for the evening was spring time and our Toastmaster Gyaney regaled us with memories of spring in Nepal we had two speakers last night, Oscar who spoke about advocating for childrens rights and George who spoke about the Mulligan curse. Tabletopics were tied into the theme of spring with six interesting Tabletopics. Thankyou to Sufyan and Sundeep who joined us as guests last night.
