At Woolston Playcentre, Mondays mean volcanoes! 🌋✨

Our tamariki love mixing, pouring, fizzing and watching their creations erupt 🌋

Making volcanoes isn’t just messy fun — it’s rich learning too:

Scientific thinking — observing changes, predicting what might happen 🧪⚗️

Early maths — measuring, counting scoops, comparing sizes together

Sensory exploration — textures, sounds, colours and reactions

Te Wiki O Te Reo Māori Language Week 2026!
14th-20th Hepetema (September)

Some simple Te Reo we can use with our Tamariki are:
🎨 Ngā tae / Colours — whero, kōwhai, kākāriki, kahurangi
🔢 Ngā tau / Numbers — tahi, rua, toru, whā

And simple sayings during play:
• “Titiro!” (look)
• “Aroha mai.” (sorry)
• “Ka pai!” (well done)
• “Haere mai.” (come here)

Fun, gentle learning woven into everyday moments. 🤍
