We love the Playcentre Dads at our centre and can’t wait to celebrate them this Fathers Day! 💛💜

"Ron is the ultimate fun dad, and loved by all. He is one of those rare souls who has endless energy, time and patience for all. When Ron's on session, us mums, nanas and caregivers get to kick back and have a chat over a cuppa, as our little ones drag him around like a human toy.

Ron is often found in the dramatic play area with his daughter and her friends. He is such a good sport never tiring from playing tea parties, a shop assistant, a sick patient, and all kinds of dress ups and role playing. Making sand castles, playing with playdoh, kicking the ball around, painting, picking flowers, pushing tamariki and dolls on swings, Ron does it all.

Ron also has a unique calming presence and is amazing at helping our tamariki navigate their feelings during times when their emotions become too big. He encourages friendships, sportsmanship, and builds confidence amongst our tamariki.

I'd like to thank Ron for all his support over the years, to both young and old. Dad's are always a favorite at playcentre and Ron you are definitely one of ours."

A big thank you to Willowbank Wildlife Reserve for visiting our centre on Friday with the Travelling Tuatara and his companion ‘Snap Snap’ the soft toy!

Our tamariki loved learning all about tuatara and seeing the special visitor moving around his enclosure.

Thank You to Everyone that has brought Raffle Tickets over the pass couple of weeks. Online tickets are now closed and we will be drawing the winners Next Friday 28th August.

Avonhead Playcentre is having a Raffle Fundraiser!!! All funds be used to purchase resources and to upgrade our outdoor area for our Playcentre.
Please support us by purchasing one, two or more raffle tickets.
Raffle tickets are $5 each.
Winners will be drawn on Friday 28th August and will be notified soon after.

We loved connecting with other Playcentre groups at the Christchurch North/East Hapori this week… with recent rain there was plenty of mud for our Mud Musketeers to explore before taking a wander through the fairy house village 🧚

Ready to join our village and experience the fun? Come and visit us during open week next week on Monday, Thursday, Friday 9am-12:30pm.
