I have long said that the brain conveys information in far larger parcels than most have ever considered. This is why any damage to the brain seems to impact in far greater ways than one might imagine.
Scientists Discover Biophotons In The Brain That Could Hint Our Consciousness is Directly Linked to Light!
Scientists found that neurons in mammalian brains were capable of producing photons of light, or “Biophotons”! The photons, strangely enough, appear within the visible spectrum. They range from near-infrared through violet, or between 200 and 1,300 nanometers. Scientists have an exciting suspici...

I have had a question going on for some time around dementia. I know that around 50% of kids struggle in school and they all grow up to be an adult. Now some of those kids find their way out of the visual perceptual deficit, which presents as a neuro-cognitive deficit, and is the cause of these struggles. But it has been my experience that the numbers doing so is probably really rather small. My question has been this, "Does having a visual perceptual deficit from a young age predispose one toward developing dementia in their latter years?" BTW, most 'dementias' are a visual perceptual deficit and the use of the word dementia has arisen because such things are being seen by most researchers, from a very superficial perspective.
Does problem-solving really protect against cognitive decline in old age?
A new study suggests that being intellectually engaged does nothing to slow cognitive decline, but it does start the decline from a higher point.
