Halswell Quarry Preschool is an early learning centre like no other. We are proudly owner/operators, striving to provide the very best environment for all young children to flourish.
The successful applicant will enjoy supportive management as well as a purpose-built centre designed by ECE professionals along-side award winning architects.

Integrated with the elements of what makes growing up in New Zealand so special, we have aimed to bring the beauty and calming elements of nature inside our centre.
- From our unique central rainforest, an oasis for rest and discovery, to our spacious learning rooms that flow seamlessly into natural outdoor play spaces of grass, trees, water, heights, tunnels, sensory caves.
Provocations, the interests of the child, the environment as the 3rd teacher, sustainability, loose parts all play very valued parts that make up our vision and commitment for all young children.
A love for nature and a love for children is paramount.
Our philosophy is un-pinned by the Reggio Emilia approach, providing a peaceful, calm, respectful environment, where children and teachers are nurtured and given the time to discover, wonder, investigate and challenge themselves.
We only want the best kaiako for our tamariki, we strive to provide excellence in care and education that foster respectful and meaningful relationships.
Interested Kaiako:
Have a NZ ECE or Primary teaching qualification & be registered with the NZ Teacher’s Council.
Have proven experience in the age group that you believe best fits you as a teacher through your teaching experience/career.
A growth mindset striving for ongoing improvement and positive outcomes for tamariki.
The ability to build and maintain responsive relationships with children and their whanau.
Want to be part of a team that see communication & supporting each other as the keys to successful teaching & learning environments.
Being flexible, motivated, enthusiastic, passionate.
Have a knowledge of Reggio Emilia and Te Whariki, ECE regulations, policies and procedures.
