Our kura is very proud of our rōpū haka who performed at the Tūhono Kapa Haka Festival yesterday in the Senior Tauihu section. The team performed exceptionally well, representing our kura with pride.

Our kura was awarded:
🥈 2nd place - Overall
🥈 2nd place - Waiata ā-Ringa (action song)
🥇 1st place - Waiata Tira (choral item)
🥇 1st place - Kākahu (clothing/costume design)
🥇 1st place - Kaitātaki Wahine (female leader)
🥇 1st place - Pao Wahine (female pao)
🥇 1st place - Kaiwaiata (best small group of singers)

Me mihi ka tika ki ngā kaitautoko o te rōpū - we would like to acknowledge all of the people that support our kapa haka, especially our tutor, Matua Te Huaki Puanaki.

In September 1991, Bishop Basil Meeking’s opening words in the first Inform read: “A warm welcome to Inform. It is a response to my request for further means of communication in our diocese. I hope it may provide some information we need as intelligent and active members of the Church.” He said that we are people who live by faith and “that faith will be the guide and standard of this modest publication”. In the 35 years since the first edition, many stories have been told, many friends, family members, loved pastors and buildings have left us. Congratulations to our Spelling Bee team, with an excellent performance recently at the semi-finals. This was a significant achievement, as to qualify for the semi-final it means that our competitors were among the top 350 spellers across New Zealand! Thank you to Ms Leung for supporting the team.
