This is an other kiwi Winter moving into its best big mountain/off piste riding ⛷️🏂 time: Due to shoulder surgery 3 months ago I only did a marvellous winter wonderland walk in the area of Porters Ski field (see photos).

Half of September is still in front of us and whole October - which last winter 2023 was very exciting and prolific for big mountain snow missions.

Great end of October mish to the North Csnterbury Fridge…not much beer in chiller 🧊but meters of snow 🤩! And lots of dry fresh graupel❄️powder-possibly your stickiest n slippery-iest snow experience.

Winter in NZ is back and PPA is looking forward to Aug. / Sept / Oct. and more snow coverage.

Only 10 x Sleeping till a close resort to Christchurch city opens it's gates to a mountain full of snow. And it's looking very promising after all that rain (and floods) we had the last days in the lowlands!
PPA can't wait for crispy air and some wintery vitamin D while going up or downhill and enjoying the mountains.

It's raining again, and it's doing so since days...but we got an hour of sunshine on Saturday...first snow mission of the newly fresh season. It's snowing somewhere :-)

Wow. Thanks everyone. We environmentalists, we citizens, are losing the climate catastrophe battle. Wall Street and Corporate America have co-opted parts our green movement. We are out of time. We are overwhelmed with everything right now. Yet the fact that over 4 million of you have watched our film when your main job currently is staying alive through the summer — well, this confirms my belief that people not only can handle the truth, but are relieved someone - filmmaker Jeff Gibbs, in this case - has finally said what most of us had been thinking for some time: That our beloved environmental movement, which has diligently worked hard for years to stop the planet’s demise is, sadly, failing — in part because of wrong choices that have been made.
