Teacher - 4 days - Permanent Vacancy.
Due to significant roll growth and thriving kura, we are excited to announce we are opening a fifth classroom and are in a position to appoint a new dynamic teacher. Working at 'Whaea Ariki Whetū o te Moana' (Our Lady Star of the Sea) in our small school environment by the beach with single cell classrooms is incredible. Our staff are cohesive and collaborative, enjoy each others company and have a lot fun together. Not only are our tamarki a delight to teach, our school community is extremely connected, supportive and proud of our school culture, environment and exceptional teaching and learning. Currently our roll is 105 and growing.
If you are passionate about making a positive impact on young lives, are a hardworking team player, creative, innovative and prepared to take on leadership opportunities within our beautiful kura, this opportunity is for you!

2025 Marian College Foundation Scholarship and past pupil success.
All Preference Applicants from Our Lady Star of the Sea School meet Priority One of Marian College's enrolment scheme meaning this is a fantastic pathway and opportunity for our girls.
A huge congratulations to Niamh Savage for being awarded the Marian College Foundation Scholarship for 2025. It was a very proud moment getting this phone call from Mary-Lou Davidson (Marian Principal) to share in Niamh's incredible achievement. This meant that Niamh scored the highest mark in the entrance assessments.
Adding to this elation, this is the second year in a row a Year 8 girl from our school has been awarded this scholarship. Last year it was Amelie Hignett. Amelie has continued to thrive at Marian and received the cup for overall Academic excellence in Year 9 at Marian's end of year prize-giving. .
This is a very proud time at our school for all that have contributed to both Niamh and Amelie's successes.

Yesterday our whole school travelled on a double decker bus to the Action Climate Centre. Many thanks to Rachel and her team for planning exciting Matariki themed activities for us as well as treating us to hot chocolate on such a chilly day.
