We have began exploring Matariki and what it means. Together, we discussed the 9 stars of Matariki and shared ideas about stars and the night sky. Tamariki talked about seeing stars in the sky with their whānau and showed great curiosity during our conversations. To extend this learning, we took part in a range of star-themed activities, using different materials to create our own stars while developing creativity, fine motor skills, and an understanding of this special time of year in NZ.

Today our tamariki and kaiako wore pink to celebrate Pink Shirt Day 💗
We came together to spread kindness, friendship and aroha, reminding us all that everyone deserves to feel safe, valued and respected. Through conversations, activities and lots of pink, we explored the importance of standing up for others and filling our preschool with aroha and kindness.

Yesterday our tamariki enjoyed baking Anzac cookies and learning about the significance of this special day.
Today we take a moment to reflect, remember, and honour those who served and sacrificed. Wishing everyone a happy ANZAC Day ❤️
Lest we forget 🌺

A big thank you to Wendy from Christchurch City Libraries who visited us in the library van this morning📚
The tamariki loved listening to Wendy read stories as well as some dancing sparking lots excitement. Afterwards, we headed out to the library van where each child had the chance to choose their very own book to check out – such a special experience!
Building a love for reading from a young age is so important, and we’re so grateful for opportunities like this.
