🎉Reaching one year is a very good reason to celebrate for United Tamil School - தமிழ்ப் பாடசாலை, Canterbury, New Zealand.🎉

UTS has just marked its first anniversary of providing Tamil language classes for Tamil tamariki. But the school is doing more than just teaching Tamil; they’re helping students build a deep connection to their heritage, fostering a sense of belonging and pride, and ensuring the next generation of Tamil children grow up connected to their roots.

The recent celebration at the Multicultural Recreation and Community Centre in Hagley, where the classes are also held, was a great way to recognise the school's history, achievements and impact. It also provided an opportunity to thank the dedicated volunteers, families, and community members for their support over the past year. At Rātā Foundation we are proud to have been part of the first step of this journey through our Connect funding programme and look forward to seeing UTS continue to make an impact in our community.
