Yesterday brought one of those quiet, magical moments that you simply can’t plan for ✨
Tucked gently onto the leg of a well-used children’s chair, one of our educators discovered a delicate monarch butterfly chrysalis. What an incredible surprise — and what followed was a rich unfolding of curiosity, wonder, and connection.
The chair has now been carefully placed up on a shelf, creating a safe and respectful space for this tiny life to continue its transformation.
Moments like these remind us that some of the most powerful learning doesn’t come from planned activities, but from being present, noticing, and following the child’s (and nature’s) lead 🌿
To witness the transformation from chrysalis to butterfly is something truly special — a living example of growth, change, and patience. We feel so grateful that our tamariki get to experience this in real time, right here in their everyday environment.
We’ll be watching closely… 🦋

A gentle and meaningful ANZAC inspired morning in the forest. 🌳
Through stories, songs, and our ANZAC Ted pukapuka, tamariki explored big questions with curiosity — wondering about soldiers, war, and the symbols within the story.
Supported by strong relationships and a deep sense of belonging, these conversations unfolded with honesty, care, and respect.
Lest we forget.

A crane fly at the mud kitchen sparked a moment of pure curiosity today at Forest Playgroup🪰✨
The magnifying glasses came out, ideas were shared, and questions flew.
The children investigated, observed, and wondered — all on their own, all naturally, all together.
It’s moments like these that remind us how powerful curiosity is, and how much learning can unfold when little minds are free to explore 🌿💚

🌼🐝 Love in Action 🌱
One of our tamariki, almost 5 years old, noticed a bumblebee in need and wanted to save it. With gentle hands, she created a beautiful little container of water and flowers — an offering of care and kindness to give the bee some kai.
Moments like this are a true reflection of our philosophy in action: nurturing empathy, connection, and respect for all living things. 💛
Our tamariki remind us every day that caring for the world around us starts with simple, thoughtful actions.

These beautiful wildflowers came from one of our amazing educators’ gardens 🌸. Gestures like this remind us that our connection goes far beyond work—we celebrate each other, support each other, and grow together. Yesterday we also celebrated 10 years with Lauren one of our incredible educators—here’s to the people who make Organic Kids what it is! 💛

✨ Welcome Back, Jasmine! ✨
We are so excited to share that Jasmine is returning to the Organic Kids whānau in 2026!
Based in beautiful Pegasus, Jasmine will be opening her home on Thursdays and Fridays, offering a nurturing, nature-filled space for tamariki to learn, play, and grow.
Jasmine brings a beautiful blend of calm, creativity, and heart to her practice. She is trained in Rainbow Children’s Yoga, weaving mindfulness and gentle movement into each day. You’ll often find her and the children out in the māra, exploring the garden, or making the most of the Pegasus community as an extension of their learning environment.
Spaces with Jasmine are always treasured — and they won’t last long.
If you’re looking for a peaceful, child-led, nature-connected home educator for 2026, now is the perfect time to reach out.
Nau mai hoki mai, Jasmine — we’re so happy to have you back. 🌿✨

A little spring rain didn’t stop us — we popped up a shelter, gathered together beneath it, while Library Lynette shared the most beautiful stories at Forest Playgroup this morning.
There’s something truly special about books in the bush… snuggled in close, listening intently, the forest around us, and Lynette bringing each story to life. It’s always such a fun morning when she visits 📚🌲 Our hearts, and imaginations, are full.
