I always say that VERY few parents of neurodivergent kids will find the perfect school that will work the whole way through.

I totally agree with Emily… We have to make the best decision based on who our child is right now. (And be nimble… very very nimble!😅).

This was such a fantastic conversation about all things neurodivergent kids and learning, as Emily shared tons of goodness from her phenomenal new book, The Neurodivergent Learner.

Do you have a child who is clearly capable, but is struggling to show what they know?

The difficulty may be with reading. Or writing. Or language. Or maths. Or attention. Or memory. Or anxiety. Or the interaction between several of these things.

The visible problem isn't always the underlying problem.

Sometimes we need to step back and ask a different question:

What is making this task so difficult for this learner?

This is the sort of question I spend a lot of time thinking about in assessment and consultation.
