The Champion Centre provides early childhood intervention services to infants and young children from 0-6 years A social worker is an integral part of the team.

The Champion Centre Early Intervention programme is for children from birth to school age who have delays in at least two areas of development. Small group sessions are held weekly/fortnightly at the centre. At each session the child is seen individually by a core therapy team of a physiotherapist or occupational therapist, early intervention teacher and speech-language therapist.

For many of the children we support, their voice is still waiting to be discovered 💛

Sometimes it starts like this, with Twinkle Twinkle sung for the very first time.

The Champion Centre is the only early intervention provider in the South Island offering musical play therapy, giving each child the space to find their voice in their own way.

Help more tamariki discover their voice by joining the Champion Circle today: https://www.championcentre.org.nz/championcircle

Seeing their daughter thrive, Barry and Kirsty wanted to give back in a way that felt ongoing, so they began making a monthly gift.

"It was incredible to have the support system of all the therapists and other parents.

Our daughter has cerebral palsy and the progress she made was amazing. She now has a job, bikes to work, goes on long walks, and volunteers at her local preschool.

The Champion Centre played a significant role in achieving these outcomes for our daughter.”

By joining the Champion Circle with a monthly gift, you can support tamariki to explore and reach their potential:

We’re sure many of the whānau who’ve come through our doors have a photo just like this 🥰

Walking alongside whānau in the early years of their child’s life, sometimes from birth right through to school, is a real privilege.

Puppy cuddles 🥰🐾

At the PRECI Conference last week, Sarah and Beccy had the pleasure of connecting with Sylvana Mahmic, CEO of Plumtree Children's Services.

It was a great opportunity to build connections with like-minded colleagues and learn more about international best practice.

Sarah and Beccy visited My Therapy House in Adelaide today to learn about their model of service delivery and received some beautiful Southern Australian hospitality 💛💚

Off to the PRECI Early Childhood Intervention Conference for the rest of the week!

Yesterday we had two very special visitors at My Therapy House®.
We welcomed an Early Childhood Teacher and a Play and Music Therapist from the Champion Centre in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Becky and Sara spent time with us learning more about what we do at My Therapy House and how we support children and families through a developmental, relationship based, and neuroaffirming approach.

There is something very special about connecting with like minded people from across the world who share similar values around children, communication, play, connection, and belonging.

Thank you Becky and Sara for visiting us. We loved sharing ideas, conversations, and learning together.
