During this term’s Celebration of Learning ngā tamariki took responsibility for leading their own Student-Led Conferences, a fundamental component of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP). Inviting tamariki to share their learning with whānau, puts our young ākonga (learners) right at the heart of their educational journey, giving them a powerful sense of ownership and empowerment.

A highlight of our 25th Birthday celebrations has been hearing from so many thoughtful friends in our community. They understand the special foundation and fond memories our Pre-school represents, for students past and present. This was a lovely surprise delivery, much to the delight of the boys and girls of Selwyn House Pre-school 💐

Our 25th birthday has become the perfect time to renew connections with students and teachers, parents and caregivers, past and present 🎊

Today we turned 25 🎂 We celebrated this most special of communities, where manaakitanga and an IB World approach continue to inspire generations 🥳 The festivities were led by our curious, courageous and inspirational tamariki. Balloons welcomed us, the springtime sun warmed us, and our own preschoolers led a karakia. The creative cake art was courtesy of our very clever and caring friend Debbie from Selwyn House School next door. Along with ngā tamariki, teachers past and present gathered with alumni and extended whānau.
It couldn't have been a more special occasion 💜

Today we farewell our outstanding student teacher Natalie Bolmatis. Natalie came to us this year having already taught in two International Baccalaureate (IB) World Schools overseas, teaching in both the PYP (Primary Years Programme) and the PYP early years.

Natalie graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 2015, went on to add a Masters of TESOL and also earned her Masters of Teaching and Learning (ECE). Natalie is an incredible educator, full of energy and a love for inspiring and nurturing our young learners. What a privilege it has been to be part of her journey. We wish Natalie all the best with her teaching career. Our tamariki and kaiako will miss her very much!
