Excellent resources at Halswell library as we celebrate Autism Awareness day 2nd April. Not many books had been issued so a week later I have them for holiday reading. 😊

I love this holiday activity. Let's go and find some Autumn leaves.

Dyslexia is one of the most misunderstood struggles of all and ONE in FIVE are dyslexic! It is so much more than letter reversals. When I started this journey seven years ago, I never knew about the science of reading and how 95% can benefit from explicit and systematic instruction. Tears, frustration, anxiety, all of this lead me to dive deep and understand how my own son learned. I knew he was brilliant, I just did not know how to access the brilliance….BUT…now I do 💗🎉 and now I get to help other teachers and mommas out there with their own struggling learners. Understanding the science of reading and the why has been a game changer for us. When asked how to begin with the science of reading in the classroom or homeschool, these are some ways to begin. It seems overwhelming in the beginning, but the more you learn, the more you want to learn. Why? Because the results are amazing! Finally…something that really works! In honor of dyslexia awareness month, check out the science of reading and ask some tough questions. There are so many in this community to help along the way. Check out our website to see some of the different ways we can help you in the journey.
