This week we commemorated ANZAC day with many activities, books, stories, songs and more. At CELC we like to teach our tamariki the significance of our history during important times like this, through fun and meaningful opportunities.

🍁Autumn has arrived!🍁

Our tamariki have been getting creative with beautiful autumn colours and exploring painting in a fun and different way. Using pegs and cotton balls!

This simple twist on painting not only sparks creativity, but also supports the development of the fine motor skills. Gripping the pegs helps strengthen little hands and fingers, building the control and coordination needed for everyday tasks.

Through experiences like this, tamariki are also learning about colour, texture, and seasonal changes, while expressing themselves in their own unique ways 🧡🍁

🐰 Easter season is in! 🐰

We have been bringing out some fun activities leading up to Easter like our loose parts to decorate some eggs. Here at CELC, Easter is one of our favourite seasons with many more fun activities like this to celebrate the festivities. 🐣🥚

🍀 Happy St Patrick’s Day from CELC! 🍀

Today we’re celebrating with a little extra luck, laughter, and learning. Our tamariki have been exploring all things green over the past week through creative play, storytelling, and a touch of magic 🌈✨

Moments like these remind us how special it is to learn together, share joy, and celebrate different cultures in meaningful ways.

Pt 2. Celebrating Chinese New Year! 🥟🐴💃🏽

We were lucky enough to have Jennifer, one of our amazing receivers, visit with her dance group. The tamariki were mesmerised by the colourful costumes and graceful movements, it was so special to be part of.

Pt 1. Celebrating Chinese New Year at CELC!! 🐴🥟💃🏽

A couple of weeks ago, our tamariki had a wonderful time celebrating Chinese New Year! We had lots of fun making dumplings together alongside the owner Iris and her friends, who came in to teach our tamariki this delicious recipe.

At CELC, we love celebrating diverse cultures and giving tamariki hands-on experiences to explore and learn about traditions around the world
