This empowering 3-day creative retreat is our main event for the 🍂Autumnal season🍂, and will give these super star tamariki the opportunity to create a dream-scape style performance piece together, drawing from their talents, passions and curiosities.

We are holding a series of mini workshops in:

- Storytelling
- Character Creation
- Movement
- Voice
- Self-Expression
- Set Design
-Soundscapes
- Directing
- Creative Collaboration
& most importantly mind-body wellbeing! 💖

'WORLD OF OUR OWN' is a 3-Day Story-Making Project for the .nz Autumn Retreat! 🍁

Combining all the arts that we know kids love - from electric movement to cosy relaxation, from music making to clever construction, from freestyle painting to hearty vocalising, from wild imaginings to brilliant character creation. We are inviting TWELVE young creatives to immerse themselves in this vibrant collaborative space - a golden opportunity to let their unique talents shine through!

Not to mention our primary focus on WHOLE SELF WELLBEING - these vital life skills are woven in on a daily basis!

👉Here’s the lowdown…

TWELVE (12) SPACES ONLY!

The crew will be guided through a step-by-step process for all these activities:

DAY 1: Mind-Body Practice Learning, Games + Story Creation

DAY 2: Set Making, Character Play, Art, Music

DAY 3: Story Completion, Presentation+ Relaxation!

Led by Lou Buckingham (Children's meditation / yoga / creative dance / drama teacher and arts facilitator) the focus of this multi-arts project is giving the children the opportunity to freely create a dream-scape style story, utilising their unique ideas and talents! This experience will immerse the lucky 12 in a creative flow, as well as highlighting the importance of linking our wellbeing to creativity. Let’s see what can happen when our young leaders have the support and open space, to make a world of their own.

DATES: 13th-15th April 2026
TIME: 10am-3pm daily
FEE: $275 (for 3 days!)
VENUE: Union Chapel, Lyttelton
AGES: 6-12 year olds

We welcome all parents/carers to come see the final presentation and join in the guided relaxation
on Wednesday 15th January 2pm 🥳😌
