Introducing - Hagley Dance Hub
A SPACE WHERE MOVEMENT CULTURES CONVERGE
An inquiry-driven, practice-led programme situating Dance as an embodied, creative, and critically reflexive discipline.

Course Structure
▶️ Indigenous approaches to embodied practice
▶️ European approaches to technical training
▶️ Intercultural and hybrid movement inquiry
▶️ Choreographic development and performance
Hagley Dance Hub is a new full-time programme where students engage in technical training alongside choreographic inquiry, developing kinaesthetic awareness, alignment, and adaptability across diverse movement practices.
Our Approach
✅️ Grounded in global dance research, the programme draws on somatic approaches and intercultural perspectives.
✅️ Dance is positioned as both artistic expression and cultural dialogue.
Through studio-based exploration, improvisation, and collaborative creation, students:

▶️ Develop critical thinking
▶️ Engage in embodied practice
Students will:
✅️ Engage with guest artists and cultural practitioners
✅️ Create original choreographic work
✅️ Participate in workshops and community practice
✅️ Build pathways to tertiary study and careers

Hagley Dance Hub offers a strong pathway into tertiary study and creative industries. Students graduate with technical, intellectual and artistic confidence to thrive across a wide range of dance and movement contexts.
