Toastmasters Meeting: 2026-06-29
In what experts are calling one of the most daring recoveries of the decade, a specialised team successfully retrieved a rare diamond from a treacherous jungle temple and lived to tell the tale.
The operation was led by expedition commander (Toastmaster) Corey, whose navigation through the vast wilderness set the mission in motion. On the ground, agents (speakers) Nitika, Ksh*tij (Horizon), and Peter bore the full weight of the infiltration; dismantling b***y traps, clearing rockfalls, and pushing deeper into the ruins than anyone had dared before.
With the diamond finally in sight, intelligence coordinator (Tabletopics Master) Nayla convened the team for a critical briefing, decoding the final puzzle standing between them and the prize.
Then disaster happened. The moment the diamond was seized, the temple responded. Walls shook. Rocks cascaded. The exit vanished behind a wall of rubble.
That's when the extraction unit moved in. Evaluators Max, Reuben, and Akila held the line, clearing debris and keeping the team intact under pressure.
Behind the scenes, running double duty Max (Grammarian), Ryota (Timer), and Vaughn (General Evaluator) ran the clock and the comms, making sure no one fell behind, and no one got left behind.
The diamond is secure. The team is out. Mission complete.
This has been a Toastmasters field report. Tune in next week for the next dispatch

Last meeting was a special one, as we farewelled a very exceptional member of our club (and our Vice President - Education), Fumi. To celebrate her time with us at UC Toastmasters, we held a potluck meeting and invited our members to dress up in costume. And instead of table topics, we had karaoke :)
Fumi is returning to her native Japan before going to take on a role in far-flung Mongolia. She has such a unique energy, her contributions to each meeting were always given with so much energy and attention, she could even make the timer's report a laugh! We will all really miss her presence, and wish her the best of luck in Mongolia!
Our final meeting for 2025. Come see us in 2026!
