Our market day last Friday afternoon was a huge success (more photos to come soon). The children have been involved in a variety of exciting activities to prepare the items to offer on the day. What a wonderful way to extend on the practical life skills we usually offer in the classroom, and to use the produce from our garden.☺️

We love making the most of sunny afternoons where joy can be cultivated in the most simplest of ways. We work on creating a space for harmony as "the child is both a hope and a promise for mankind" Maria Montessori 🌞😃

Ruma rua children have been studying dinosaurs. On Friday we had huge fun on our sandpit dinosaur dig. So many treasures were found and as much value placed on the broken shells (...and an old plate!) as on the bones. A whole morning's work. 3 bones found and 4 more in there somewhere waiting for another day.

Thank you to those who joined us at our picnic today, the culmination of our Chinese New Year celebrations. Preparing dumplings, cleaning our environment and many crafts have been thoroughly enjoyed by the tamariki. Xin Nian Hao - Happy New Year!

Mā tatou. We all will.
We acknowledge the wairua-spirit of Waitangi and as Waitangi Day falls on Saturday this year, the tamariki and kaiako of Courtyard celebrated today. Enjoy a beautiful long weekend and remember why we celebrate this day. Aroha nui.
