NZ Open, well done team. We placed well considering the size of our few entries. It was Charlotte, Julian, Matilda, Artem, Indie and Arlo's first Karate Auckland tournament, so great results guys with your 3 golds and silver and bronze medals. The boys in the team fight, we gave away a lot of height that mattered not, as the ability to stay mobile was such a strength. Nice work with your bronze medal boys. To our experienced others, you represented yourself to the highest level. Gemma fought out of her skin, walking on to the mat with a fantastic mindset and preparation. Ella Harris finishing second place to Juliet McLaughlan, it was lovely to see the two top NZ women's kumite athletes compete in the final together. That was of no surprise when you see them train on a Wednesday night, and at the Canterbury regional trainings.
Keep going.

Such and incredible experience for our NZ Karate athletes. Thank you Okay Arpa Sensei for arranging training this camp and a teams competition between Australia, New Zealand and Turkey.
Lest we forget.

Wishing WKF ranked #1 kata player Kakeru Nishiyama all the best at the upcoming world karate championships in Egypt. It was fantastic to see (his wife) Hikaru Ohno win at the last world champs. We are very fortunate to be connected to such a strong traditional Japanese karate family. The second photo is with the Brown family from our club training at Sato Sensei’s club in Japan a year or two ago. We look forward to again hosting Sato Sensei next year here in Christchurch.
