How lucky have our 1st XV been this year to have Mr Steve Fraser back as team manager. Part of the Christchurch Boys' High School Senior Leadership Team, Steve has had quite a history with the 1st XV.
Steve began his first stint as manager back in the early 2000's alongside coaches Dave Ralston and Ed Murphy. It was this triumvirate that guided the Boys' High 1st XV through unbeaten seasons in 2004 and 2005 earning two national titles in the process. Included in these teams were All Blacks Owen Franks, Colin Slade and Matt Todd and a host of other talent including Tim Bateman, Nasi Manu and Kosei Ono.
Steve returned as manager through 2009-2011 looking after teams that included Brodie Retallick and UFC star Brad Riddell. Since 2011 he has remained a passionate follower of the 1st XV, missing very few of the home games over the years.
Given the opportunity to work with this year's team, Steve jumped at the chance. His passion, organisation and leadership have had a profound effect on this year's squad.
Thank you Steve for giving your time to CBHS Rugby. You are a real legend.
