🏕️ Father & Kids Weekend 2026

Back by popular demand from dads and kids alike!

A CTK tradition for more than 25 years, the Father & Kids Weekend is organised by dads, for dads and their kids — a great chance to spend time together, meet other dads and enjoy a fun weekend away.

📅 6–8 November
🔥 Activities, BBQs and pools
🛖 Cabins and huts available

This is a parent-organised community event and not an official school camp.

Day 3 – Woodend Camp 2026 – Final Day! 🎯🏕️

Our happy campers are wrapping up their final day at Woodend Christian Camp!

Today’s adventures have included Archery 🏹, Rifle Shooting 🎯, and another chance to enjoy some of their favourite activities from the past few days.

It has been a fantastic three days, with our Year 5 and 6 students challenging themselves, trying new things, supporting one another, and making plenty of great memories along the way. 🌟

A huge thank you to all of the staff and parent helpers who have given their time and energy to support our students at camp. We simply couldn’t run these opportunities without your help. 🙌👏

Our campers are expected back at school at approximately 2:15pm — no doubt a little tired, but with plenty of stories to tell! 🏕️📸

Day 2 – Woodend Camp 2026 🏕️🎉

Day 2 at Woodend Christian Camp has been another adventure-filled day for our Year 5 and 6 students!

They’ve been soaring through the air on the Flying Fox 🦅, challenging themselves with Abseiling 🧗‍♂️, and having plenty of fun Watersliding 💦.

Day 1 - Woodend Camp 2026 🏕️🎉

Our Year 5 and 6 students are spending the final three days of Term 3 at Woodend Christian Camp, enjoying time together outside the classroom, taking on new challenges, and making plenty of great memories along the way.

They have had a fantastic first day at camp!

🎉 Celebrating 25 Years at Christ the King 🎉

This week we celebrated a very special milestone for Mrs Erin Coyle, who has now completed an extraordinary 25 years — and 100 terms — at Christ the King. 👏💙

Erin began at CTK in Term 4, 2001, and over the past 25 years has been an important part of the life and history of our school. 🏫✨

Minecraft E-Sport Challenge 🎮🌿

Last Friday, a group of Christ the King students headed to Te Hāpua Library in Halswell to take part in the GCSN Redzone Recovery Minecraft Education Build Challenge.

The challenge asked students to work collaboratively in teams to reimagine Christchurch’s red-zoned areas, using Minecraft Education to design creative ideas for Ōtautahi’s future green spaces. 🌱🏙️

Speech Finals 2026 🎤

Over the past few weeks, our students have been putting their public speaking skills to the test as part of our 2026 Speech Competition.

A huge congratulations to all of our finalists who represented their classes and year levels so confidently. Preparing and presenting a speech in front of an audience takes courage, organisation and plenty of practice, and we were very impressed by the quality and variety of topics presented.

⛷️ Year 7 and 8 Ski Trip 2026 🏔️

Our Year 7 and 8 students had a fantastic day up the mountain at Mt Hutt last Friday!

The conditions were great, and we had an enthusiastic group of skiers making the most of a brilliant day on the slopes. ⛷️❄️
