Te Kākano I Ruia Mai 5 & 6 kick started Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2026 with our Hononga ki te Hāpori Haerenga. We connected with our teina at both Whītau School on Friday and then to Busy Bees Lake Terrace today!

From sharing waiata, haka and reo Māori through our classes very own pukapuka tamariki mahi - our community connections continue to grow, our reo continues to be heard, and our tamariki continue to show us just how powerful it is when we learn with and from one another.

AIMS GAMES 2026
Day 6 Results:

Day 4 of the sevens campaign brought a tough first game with the boys taking on defending champions Glen Eden Intermediate. Glen Eden scored early in the first half to take a 7-0 lead the boys struck back to head to the half down 7-5. The boys came out strong in the second half with suffocating defence trapping Glen Eden in their own half and scored 2 tries from their mistakes to knockout Glen Eden and advance to the top 4.

Our semi final saw a rematch with Henderson. Henderson started strong with a quick try but the boys struck back with a brilliant try. Unfortunately a few Chissy errors led to 2 more Henderson tries. A excellent individual try from Honour Siu saw the boys fall 24-14.

Our final game for 3rd and 4th is at 10:55 vs Kelston Intermediate.

The Futsal team has farewelled four players who have already headed back home. The remaining players enjoyed a restful day supporting the rugby team, going to the beach for a walk around the rocks and a swim at Baywave Aquatic Centre.
