The student council would like to announce that Oaklands Te Kura o Ōwaka will be joining the rest of Aotearoa in raising funds for the Child Cancer Foundation.

We invite all staff and tamariki to get involved by wearing a wig or putting their hair into a funky style and donating a gold coin to this worthy cause.

This event will be Week 9, Wednesday 10th September

Teacher Aide/Learning Assistant Vacancy.

Oaklands Te Kura o Ōwaka has a position available to support our learners.

Our school is looking for a caring and engaging teacher aide/learning assistant who can provide a high level of collaboration to join our amazing team of colleagues.

Our students have diverse needs which include:

*High Health
*ESOL - English Language Learners
*Behaviour/Learning
*ORS

The successful candidate will:
*Be willing to work across all year levels of the school
*Be enthusiastic about assisting children with their learning needs
*Have clear articulation to support structured literacy programmes
*Display patience, understanding and discretion
*Be flexible, well-prepared, and able to use initiative
*Be reliable
*Enjoy working within a team environment

The position is Part-time, fixed-term, 15 - 20 hours a week, spread across Monday - Friday.

The position’s start date is asap (or once the police vetting process is complete), and the contract is school term time only until 16 December 2025.
