While visting Fiji in January 2019 I was concerned about the general condition of the horses, not only their physical condition but also with the style of training that is being used because it is harsh and it is not bringing out the best of the horse ... or the human. Also in some of the rural areas which are very poor, people are using wire, chain and rope as a substitute for bits and this is causing very bad damage to the horses mouths.
