What an incredible day for Cobham Intermediate, with 40 students taking on the course and giving it their all. Weâre so proud of our standout results, Louise finishing 1st and Mckenna 2nd in the Year 7 girls, and Heath placing 3rd in the Year 7 boys. Amazing effort from every runner who represented Cobham with pride and determination.

Our Kapa Haka rĆpĆ« has been hard at work, and we couldnât be prouder! Over the last few weeks, our tuakana (senior students) have been doing an amazing job welcoming our new Year 7s, blending into one awesome whÄnau.
The hard work doesnât stop there - the team has just started learning brand-new waiata as we set our sights on the TĆ«hono Competition this November! As our biggest and most anticipated event of the year, preparation is key, and Miss Gaines has noted that she is highly impressed with the progress and focus shown by all students so far.

Congratulations to Tatiana Na - Tennis Canterbury Player of the Year!
Tatiana continues to set the bar incredibly high, both here in Aotearoa and on the international stage.
Ranked #1 in NZ for 12U, 13U, 14U and 15U girls, Tatiana dominated the 2025 season, winning all four National 12U singles titles, multiple doubles titles, and 14U titles. At just 12 years old, she also produced one of the strongest records in Womenâs Division 1 Interclub (16 wins, 2 losses) and stepped up to help the TKHP Premier Womenâs team, winning 3 of her 4 matches.
Her success didnât stop there. In 2025/26 she claimed both the Junior Premier Secondary Interclub title and the Womenâs Division 1 Senior Interclub title.
This year, Tatiana has been traveling through Europe, competing against some of the best young players int eh world. From the exclusive IMG Future Stars tournament in Greece to top level European Junior Tour events, she has shown incredible grit, winning the All In Open in France.
When we asked Tatiana about her journey, she shared that her favorite part of tennis is competing and making new friends. Sheâs especially proud of the opportunity to attend IMG Future Stars, looks up to Aryna Sabalenka, and when sheâs not on the court, she loves to draw.
We are incredibly proud of you, Tatiana. Your hard work, humility, and determination inspire our whole Cobham community.

Last Friday, Molly & Gracie had the exciting opportunity to visit Plains Media and be interviewed on the radio about Cobhamâs ShowQuest performance.
It was fantastic to see them representing our school and sharing their passion, creativity, and hard work behind this yearâs production.
Here are a few photos from their time in the studio, along with a link to listen to the interview.

Weâre celebrating NZ music month at Cobham!
A reminder that this Friday, 29 May, weâll be marking the occasion together at school.
Please remember:
Bring a gold coin donation
No theme and no face paint
Closed shoes only
We look forward to a great day celebrating Aotearoaâs amazing music and creativity!
The colder mornings can make getting to school a little tougher, and we know extra layers are often needed. Students are welcome to wear jackets, coats, gloves, beanies, and other warm outerwear for their journey to school. Once inside the classroom, these layers should be removed, as our learning spaces are kept at a comfortable 18-20 degrees.
We also recognize that the PE uniform, while light and easy to wash, can feel cold during winter. To help, students may wear a school approved undergarment beneath their PE gear. Two options are available, a soft cotton style and a warmer merino version, both available from NZ uniforms.
