After a year back in the classroom, I am eager to focus and prioritise support and intervention for children and families with speech and language therapy needs.

Kia ora and hello. Welcome to Speech Teach NZ. I thought it was time I introduced myself. I am Carli. I am a speech language therapist and classroom teacher. I am also a mum of two. After many years teaching in Western Australia, I completed a Masters in Speech language therapy at the University of Canterbury. It was all those years in the classroom that lead me to speech therapy. I didn’t have the knowledge or tools to help so many of the kids that I was seeing struggle in the classroom. Now, I do. I am passionate about helping kids. Whether it be though improving their speech, supporting them with structured literacy, phonological awareness, language difficulties, auditory processing disorder and so much more, I’d love to help. My hope is that through this page I can connect with families who are looking for support or just provide information and ideas. Final note - yes, that is an avatar of me. I’ve always been one to be behind the camera instead of in front.
