Congratulations to the team for another successful Aruhiko PEET Power Systems Field Trip and thank you to everyone who helped with organising and hosting our group.
Each year, on behalf of Aruhiko PEET, we run a 4-day field trip in either the North or South Island. This year, the trip was held in the North Island, starting in Wellington, and travelling up to Auckland, stopping at wind, hydro, thermal and geothermal generation sites, HVDC switchyard and substation, transmission coordination centre, battery storage and distribution as well as a major energy user.
EPECentre team members David Humm, Sharee McNab, Rachel Maw and UC ECE's Paul Agger lead the group of 28 UC students from Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Mechatronics Engineering. Student feedback was fantastic and appreciative of being able to see how the whole power system works together. We are so grateful to all our hosts, their enthusiasm for their jobs and passing on that enthusiasm to the students!

Congratulations to our 2023 scholars! Thank you to everyone who came together on 5 October to take part in and support the Power Engineering Scholarship Awards. It was a fantastic evening in the John Britten building at UC! This year we awarded 29 scholars on behalf of our Aruhiko PEET members.
We were honoured to have special guests, Pat Bodger (one of the original founders of EPECentre and PEET), Peter Brown (PSC and PEET Board Member), Mark Appleman (MainPower), Irene Clausse (Connetics) and Lydia Smith (Transpower) speaking and awarding certificates to the scholars. Also, really nice to catch up with scholar alumni in attendance.
