Matariki is the Maori New Year and we honoured it by reflecting on the past. We also Celebrated the present - Matariki Ahunga Nui: Gathered together to give thanks for what we have. Looked to the future - Matariki Manako Nui: Looking forward to the promise of a new year.

Matariki is a time for gathering with whanau and friends to celebrate the past, enjoy the present and look forward to the future. Our annual celebration was a beautiful one filled with waiata, kai and aroha.

The theme for Samoan Language Week 2026 was, “E afua mai mauga tetele manuia o nu’u” - “From the high mountains come the blessings of the village”, It is a reminder of the importance of culture, values, language and identity for Samoan families.
We had a special time this year through learning more Samoan language and sharing in timeline crafting traditions.
