For the sake of clarification: no, theatre sports is not on today or this term, I've unfortunately had to prioritise other things. However, this doesn't necessarily mean I've abandoned the idea entirely, I do really enjoy running these workshops and would be keen to return to them if that opportunity comes up.
In the meantime, however, I do still teach drama at Hartley School of Performing Arts on Wednesdays, which I would highly recommend for anyone interested in filling a theatre-shaped hole in their schedule!
Feel free to reach out to me anytime, for questions, if you'd like a copy of the booklet with all the games, and especially if you're looking for someone to run a one-off theatre sports workshop :)

The bank account to transfer the cost of the term to is 02-1253-0010084-001. Put your name (or the name you wrote in the "parent's name" part of the enrolment form) as the reference - sometimes the bank apps don't display a first name, so this just means I can see clearly who has or hasn't paid.
See you on the 3rd of Febuary!

My improv/theatresports workshop is back on! Term 1 will run from the 3rd of Febuary to the 7th of April.
Term 1 is the only one guaranteed at the moment, so don't miss out!
Visit this page for more details, or email [email protected] if you have any questions :)
Here's some important info/changes for this term. I will put the poster up in a second, which will essentially be a shorter version of all of this info that I encourage you to share with people who may be interested!!
- This year I don't have the funding of the youth development grant, which was just to get the workshops started for the first year. Unfortunately, that means that in order to keep the workshops running, I've had to up the price slightly from $5 per lesson to $7.
- Off of that last point, I AM able to offer a discount for families who have multiple children attending - the cost of any additional child in the workshop is at the original cost of $5 per lesson.
- This term will run from the 3rd of Febuary to the 7th of April, 4 - 5pm on Mondays, and it will continue to be held at the Pegasus Community Centre.
- Just a reminder that term 2, 3 and 4 are not yet guaranteed. The reason for this is entirely because I am working full time this year, and I have no idea what my personal schedule is going to look like that far into 2025, so I will have to take it term by term. But rest assured, I will do my very best to keep them going!!
I will post a sign up form in a day or two. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to message me on Facebook or email me ([email protected]).
URGENT AGAIN!!
I have just tested positive for COVID, so unfortunately I will have to cancel tomorrow's class. I will happily sort a $5 refund of the class, please privately message me with your bank account details and I will transfer it as soon as possible.
Very very sorry!! See you back on the 14th!
Apologies about the lack of clarity for this term!
Theatresports IS on for term 4. It'll be a 9 week term, so the cost of this term is $45. Same bank account for the transfer - 02-1253-0010084-001.
Also! For the end of the year, I want to sort a wee end of year afternoon tea (most likely pizza), so please make sure I know by the end of the term if your child has any allergies, and either comment under this post or personally message me with suggestions for pizza :)
URGENT!!
This Thursday's class on the 19th will unfortunately have to be cancelled!!
I'm doing a show with my performing arts course on Friday the 20th, and a compulsory rehearsal had to be extended - which now means that I will have to be in Lyttleton over the time that our class would usually be.
If you'd like the $5 refund for the lesson please private message me with your bank account number and I'll transfer it as soon as possible!
Aaand, if you don't have any plans for Friday, and you'd like to come see an hour and a half showcase of singing, dance, and masked theatre, here are the tickets to my course's show, Tercet:

So sorry for such a last minute change! I'll see you for the last lesson of the term, on the 26th!

The workshop will still be on in term 3! Since I will be away in August this term, the lessons on the 22nd and 29th of August will not go ahead - meaning the cost of this term is just $40! I hope to see you there next Thursday! :)
Kia ora!
Just letting you all know in case you were uncertain that my improv workshop WILL be going ahead next term. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone next week - we'll be focusing on learning a bunch of games this term, and refining the ones that we enjoy!
I've been working on getting the word out for next term, but my most reliable option is always word of mouth. So please please please, do let people know about this workshop if you think they or their child would benefit from it.
Since it is a 10 week term, the cost for the full term is $50 and can be paid to 02-1253-0010084-001.
See you Thursday!

Are you looking for a fun, non-sport extra curricular activity for your child in the new year?
My name is Lee Pockson, I'm an 18 year old recent graduate of Hartley School of Performing Arts, and I'm running an improvisation and theatresports workshop for kids in years 7 - 10 (roughly 10 - 15 yr olds) in 2024!
This workshop is partially funded very kindly by the Waimakariri District Council via their Youth Development grant.
It requires no experience whatsoever, and is in fact encouraged for people who have never been on stage before! It'll run for an hour after school on Thursdays, and will teach the basic rules of improv/theatresports, which has shown to be a great way to boost values of self confidence, teamwork and good communication - especially in this age group. Classes will involve theory-based chats, challenges, skill-enhancing games, hopefully useful life skills and heaps of fun!
They will run from 4pm to 5pm on Thursdays, in "The Big Room" of the Pegasus Community Centre, 8 Tahuna Street. The lessons cost $5 per lesson for the full term, or $8 for a single lesson. So the first term, which is 11 weeks long, would be $55.
I am unfortunately unable to clone myself, so there is a limit of 20 slots available.
Message me to enrol or if you have any questions, and I hope to see you there on the 1st of Febuary!
