Christchurch’s biggest Pacific cultural event is coming up — SPACPAC Canterbury Polyfest 2026! It’s a wonderful, family-friendly event with lots of food stalls and cultural performances. It would be lovely to see some of our families (and teachers with their families) there enjoying and celebrating Pacific culture together.

We were delighted to welcome Father Alister to our Montessori for a special Ash Wednesday mat time and blessing as we begin Lent this week 🙏

After his visit, the children created Ash Wednesday self-portrait crafts to mark this meaningful day. 💜

Today we celebrated Shrove Tuesday at our Montessori Preschool — a joyful tradition as we prepare for Lent.

The children had a wonderful time making pancakes, carefully measuring, mixing, and stirring together. The photos capture their concentration and teamwork, followed by happy smiles as they enjoyed their homemade pancakes at afternoon tea.

As we begin this special season, we remember:

Today our tamariki were busy preparing for the most important Valentines in their lives - their parents.

As part of our Asia continent focus, they made cottage cheese dumplings, created handmade cards, and carefully wrote their own heartfelt messages.

We hope you enjoy the treats and treasure the words written just for you. 💕

The teachers were also shown some special love and we pray for them, our children and our community, to grow with love 🥰
