Helping people to help themselves. To be empowered to move forward. To be able to recognise and use their strengths and abilities.

All our training has been designed to give family/whanau the necessary tools to achieve the following outcomes:

To improve communication and understanding. To be able to reduce their own stress at home and in the workplace. To increase their self respect, self worth and self confidence. To make positive changes in their lives. To be stronger, happier and better equipped to cope with the day to day challenges in their lives.

We have come to an end of an era with the closure of our Knitting for Communities project.
Over 18 years, thousands of babies, children, pets and families have been supported around the country.
It has been an honour to serve our communities and our country, we thank you all for your hard work and dedication to our wonderful project. To our sponsors, our crafters, our organisations and many more - THANK YOU.
Its wonderful to know that some of our crafters and coordinators have decided to continue in their respective areas to keep supporting their wider community. We look forward to hearing all about it in the near future. Thank you to the wonderful dedicated Barbara Aitken for creating and nurturing this magnificent project.

Last Post for the Year.

We ended up making 46 Christmas Bags full of goodies. I want the thank everyone who help make this possible by donating all the beautiful gifts.
A big big thank you to Jan who spent many hours making 30 of the bags. They were so beautiful.
My helpers Lynnette and Margaret spent a day sorting and filling them who I am very grateful to and appreciate all their help.
Most of them went to It Takes a Village to be distributed . We took one box full to Hornby Plunket for them to give to needy families.
