🗑️ 40kg+ of rubbish. Less than an hour. 💪🌿

The Keep Christchurch Beautiful team teamed up with Christchurch City Council staff for a clean-up at Cross Street — collecting more than 40kg of rubbish, including illegal dumping, in under an hour! 👏

It’s amazing what can be achieved when we get stuck in together. 🤝💚

One street cleaner, one community at a time. 🌿

🌿 Young people making a difference! 💚

We love hearing about families getting out into their own communities and doing their bit to keep Christchurch clean, green and beautiful.

The other weekend, Sophia and Amelia, along with their mum Vicky, took on their first clean-up. At first glance, the area looked pretty tidy — but after a closer look, they managed to fill a whole bag with rubbish, as well as collecting some larger pieces of plastic.

And the best part? They had plenty of local residents stopping to say hello, have a chat and show their support. 👏

A huge well done to Sophia and Amelia for getting stuck in! It’s a great reminder that you don’t have to wait for a big organised event to make a difference. Sometimes it starts with a rubbish bag, a pair of gloves and a willingness to help.

Thank you to Vicky for sharing their clean-up with us — we’re looking forward to seeing the girls at some of our community clean-ups in the future! 🌱

Be a part of Keep New Zealand Beautiful Clean Up Week by cleaning up the streets and streams around the University. Waders for in the stream and lunch provided.

💪🏽🌳🌈🚮Last Saturday, Keep Christchurch Beautiful teamed up with incredible volunteers in Linwood Village for a community clean up.

And wow, what a day!
Together, we collected 110 kilos of rubbish and 10 kilos of recycling.
There were some interesting finds too. And yes, we mean needles. So, safety gear and care were super important.
Special thanks to all the volunteers who showed up, dug in,and made a difference.
We appreciate you, and we look forward to the next cleanup.
Let’s keep Christchurch beautiful, together.

Thanks to this amazing team for banding together to help make this slice of the East of Christchurch a more clean green and beautiful place! Almost 500KG collected helping keep our community and waterways healthier for the humans and wildlife in the area!
