🇵🇭 Celebrating Philippine Independence Day 🇵🇭
Last Friday, our tamariki enjoyed learning about and celebrating Philippine Independence Day through a variety of meaningful and fun experiences.
Together, we proudly sang the Philippine National Anthem, providing an opportunity for children to hear and appreciate an important part of Filipino culture and identity. The children also had great fun participating in a traditional Filipino game, Tumbang Preso, where they practised teamwork, coordination, and turn-taking while enjoying active play outdoors.
To extend their learning, the children engaged in a creative art and craft activity inspired by the Philippine flag and colours. Through these experiences, they explored cultural diversity, developed a sense of belonging, and celebrated the rich heritage that makes up our learning community.
A heartfelt thank you to all our whānau who support us in embracing and sharing different cultures within our centre. Together, we create a learning environment where every child’s identity and culture are valued and celebrated.
Mabuhay! 🇵🇭❤️💙💛

Watching children learn through play is always special 💛
Today, one of our teachers introduced a creative and meaningful outdoor experience using a measuring tape on the slide. As children climbed up and slid down, they explored how “big” their slide was by measuring it together. This simple yet engaging activity sparked curiosity, excitement, and lots of turn-taking as everyone eagerly waited for their chance.
Through experiences like this, we support early mathematical understanding, encourage social skills, and most importantly, nurture children’s confidence and sense of belonging.
At our centre, we value creating meaningful learning opportunities that support children’s overall development and wellbeing in fun and engaging ways 🌿

📚✨ World Book Day at Our Preschool ✨📚
We had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day with our tamariki! Children brought along their favourite books from home, and we shared lots of stories, pictures, and laughter throughout the day.
We also loved giving away books to our whānau to enjoy at home—because reading together is where the magic begins 💛
Building a love for books in the early years helps support language, imagination, and a lifelong love of learning. Thank you to our amazing community for being part of it!

Today, the tamariki worked together with Harry to create a ginormous volcano in the sandpit! 🌋 Using sand, teamwork, and lots of excitement, the children helped shape and build their volcano before watching the eruption come to life. There were many curious faces as they observed the bubbling reaction and shared their ideas about what might happen next.
This experience encouraged collaboration, problem-solving, and scientific thinking as tamariki explored cause and effect in a fun and hands-on way. It was wonderful to see everyone taking turns, supporting one another, and celebrating the big eruption together.
What an explosive day of learning and discovery! 🌋✨
