Meet Gerald Teong, our proud UCIC alumnus!
Gerald joined us in 2021 during the height of lockdown, when learning went fully online. Despite the challenges, Gerald describes his UCIC experience as fun and engaging, thanks to our team’s efforts to support students with creative online learning and social events that kept everyone connected.
Gerald’s hard work and determination paid off—he was awarded the prestigious UC College of Engineering International Scholarship in his second year and gained valuable experience as an assistant structural engineer with Christchurch City Council over the summer.
For Gerald, the friendships and community at UCIC turned his online journey into an inspiring start to his career in engineering.
