Some fun facts I learned today about New Zealand:
1. NZ was the first country to give women the right to vote in 1893.
2. The first person to climb Mount Everest was a Kiwi, Sir Edmund Hillary.
3. NZ has some of the clearest water in the world with Blue Lake in the Nelson Lakes National Park currently holding the record. It's visibility can reach up to 80 metres. It's Maori name is ‘Rotomairewhenua’ which means ‘Lake of Peaceful Lands’.
4. A sheep once managed to escape from its farm and hid for 6 years in a cage. Locals started calling it Shrek. When he got found he had 30kg of wool on his body, the equivlant of 20 suits.
Here a photo of Shrek after he was captured to make your Tuesday!
