It is with a heavy heart we share some tragic news.

Our dear friend, colleague and whānau member Rodney TeWheu Flavell has passed away suddenly.

We send our deepest sympathies to the whānau.

Please respect the whānau’s need for time so please do not communicate with them at this time.

As a Kura we will support the whānau and update you as we can.

The whānau will take Rodney home to Tuakau, back to the Flavell homestead.
When Katrina and whānau return to Otautahi we will hold a Memorial Service in Te Rau Ika with our Haeata community.

Kia Ora, Talofa Lava. Today we close our doors for the very last time after 105 years. Thinking about all who have come to learn and work at this school over the years. The laughter, the tears and everything in-between. Sad but proud to be the final principal saying goodbye and closing up later today on behalf of all current and past staff. Arohanui, Mike Anderson, Acting Principal. Go Aranui!!!

Kids' Big Day In fun day from 10am. Former pupils/staff welcome to join in from 12:30pm-2:45pm.

Then, celebration event from 5:30pm.
5:30pm. Haka powhiri, welcomes, speeches. 6:00pm Hangi. 6:30pm-7:30pm Classrooms open. 7:30pm-9:00pm Mix n Mingle.

A special morning in Ako 7 today. These tamariki worked hard all term to earn a session with our school dog all to themselves. Well done Ako 7 crew. Murphy loved hanging out with you all.

Also from the combined schools' group, We even managed to grab a shot of community legends Whaea Sally, Julie Perelinii & Mele Togiaso in action together for last time at Affirm for Aranui School. Many thanks Whaea Sally for leadership and to other Aranui staff who turned out to awhi.

Today we had two large groups of tamariki out on end of year trips (and our new entrant class visiting the High School for a special Christmas show).
