Our Pacific Development Team (PDT) provides extensive support, opportunities, programmes, and events for our Pacific students as well as initiatives for UC staff and the wider community🌺 Talofa lava, Malo e lelei, Ni sa bula vinaka, Namaste, Kia orana, Taloha ni, Ia orana, Fakaalofa lahi atu, 'Alii, Malo ni, Halo Olaketa, Mauri, Aloha mai e and warm Pacific Greetings. The Pacific Development Team, made up of 7 staff, offers information, advice, advocacy and pastoral care support to Pacific students studying at the University of Canterbury. We provide programmes to support your academic goals and organise activities and events throughout the year to ensure your time at UC is not only successful but also enjoyable and very rewarding. Student BBQ’s, Jandals and the Achievers Evening are among some of the events students can look forward to during the year. The Get FRESH programme and Pacific Mentoring Programme are provided especially for our first-year (including transferring) Pacific students and the PASS programme is available to all Pacific students to support academic learning and achievement. We also have a dedicated Pacific Education Advisor who organises specific events for College of Education students that are held at at the University of Canterbury.
