βοΈβ¨ This winter, our tamariki have embraced many opportunities to express themselves creatively while building confidence through physical exploration. From climbing adventures π§ββοΈ and energetic dance parties ππΊ to imaginative sandpit cooking π₯£ποΈ and nurturing play with baby dolls πΆπ, each experience has supported meaningful learning through play.
These rich experiences encourage tamariki to develop creativity, resilience, problem-solving skills, empathy, and an understanding of themselves and others. Through dramatic play, movement, and exploration, children make sense of the world around them while strengthening their social and emotional wellbeing. π±π

What an exciting surprise to have snow at the Tree House! Our tamariki and kaiako were full of excitement as they explored, played, and laughed together in the snow. βπ€ From making footprints to catching snowflakes, there were smiles everywhere! These special moments create wonderful memories while encouraging curiosity, exploration, and plenty of outdoor fun. βοΈπ

Today our little learners had a wonderful time creating beautiful jewellery using bead connectors! πβ¨
This fun, hands-on activity helped develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, creativity, and concentration as the children carefully connected colourful beads to design their own unique bracelets and necklaces. We loved seeing their imaginations shine and the pride on their faces as they showed off their creations!
Learning through play is always full of smiles, creativity, and confidence-building moments. ππ

We had so much fun celebrating Matariki, the MΔori New Year, with our tamariki enjoying a range of exciting activities.
There was plenty of laughter and creativity in the TΕtara Room, where the children explored and discovered through messy play! π¨ποΈπ

β¨π What a magical Matariki WhΔnau Evening! πβ¨
A huge thank you to all of our wonderful whΔnau who joined us to celebrate Matariki. It was a truly special evening filled with learning, laughter, connection, and community. π
Our tamariki loved sharing a variety of Matariki learning experiences, including beautiful Matariki-inspired artwork π¨, traditional flax weaving πΏ, and dancing the night away in our fun disco room πͺ©π.
One of the highlights of the evening was watching our amazing tamariki perform their Matariki songs. πΆ They sang with such confidence and pride, making it a moment to remember. β€οΈ
Everyone also enjoyed warming up with delicious homemade soup, lovingly prepared by our tamariki, served alongside fresh bread rolls. π²π₯ It was the perfect way to come together and share kai.
To finish the evening, we were treated to a truly magical fire and LED performance π₯β¨ that left everyone in awe and was the perfect ending to a wonderful celebration.
Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make this event so special. Celebrating Matariki together reminds us to reflect, connect, and look forward with hope as a community. β
