Burnside swim team brings home the medals! Our Burnside swimming team excelled at the New Zealand Secondary Schools' Swimming Competition - bringing home 23 national medals!

GOLD! National swimming championships win On the opening night of the National Secondary Schools Swimming Championship in Auckland, Burnside achieved an outstanding result - winning gold in the 4x50m Men’s Medley Relay.

Donnelly: a name synonymous with Burnside High School and the Commonwealth Games Thirty-six years after her father, Nigel, won gold on the cycling track at the Commonwealth Games, former student Sami Donnelly is ready to emulate his win. Update: It's silver in the team pursuit and silver in the women's 10km scratch race!

Burnside band, EQUILIBRIUM, winners of the 2025 national Smokefreerockquest have released their debut single - Rumination!

Corban Blackwell (guitar), Alex Gibson (sax and keys), Wonie Park (bass) and ex BHS student, Finley Tressler (drums) are delighted with the results. “The sound quality, mixing and production are fantastic” said Alex, “and we had a great time recording the video at the Great Hall in Christchurch Arts Centre and the Comedy Club.”

Fantastic news for our very own Eliot Ramousse and Milla Boulton - named in the NZ New Zealand Secondary Schools Athletics Association Cross Country Team to compete in Ballarat, Victoria in August. Thoroughly well deserved! We look forward to watching their progress as they excel in their chosen field.
