New Beginnings Preschool Inc We are a well-established community preschool and nursery in the Linwood area. Our child to teacher ratio exceeds Ministry of Education requirements.

About Us
We are a well-established preschool and nursery in the Linwood area bordering Linwood Park with Linwood Avenue primary school close by. The centre is operated by a centre manager and supported by a committee (parents of children at the centre and other interested community members). The committee works collaboratively with teachers and parents to provide the best possible outcomes for children and whanau. We are committed to providing quality care and education for children aged 0 - 5 years. Teachers are committed to on-going professional development to help support your child's continuing learning and development. We offer WINZ subsidies for qualifying families and children aged 3 – 5 years are eligible for Ministry of Education 20 Free hours. We are open for school holidays closing only three weeks at Christmas time. We offer a very calm and peaceful environment to enhance and support children's learning. Our centre is bi-cultural and multi-cultural. We are part of the Ministry of Education Linwood Cluster group and our teachers are currently undertaking a Pasifika review. Within this cluster we are also focusing on transition to school alongside the local primary schools in the area. New Beginnings is a registered charity as well as being a non-profit community preschool. This means that we rely heavily on donations and grants so that we can put everything back into our whānau and community. We use these donations in many ways. We provide our tamariki with full school uniforms and shoes when they start primary school and provide whānau with warm clothes and blankets during the winter months. We also bridge gaps to ease stressful times for whānau - providing food, counselling, and transport. We walk along side our whānau and support them to navigate social services. Help Us Support Our Tamariki

We are passionate about helping our children transition confidently into school. For many of our tamariki, starting school with a new uniform is an important milestone—it builds confidence, pride, and a sense of belonging.

Traditionally, we have been able to provide the basics needed for this new journey. However, like many in our community, we are currently experiencing financial hardship and are finding it increasingly difficult to continue this support.
