What a fantastic learning experience for the older kids of Tuia Burnside Primary School on their recent marine-focused field trip to Lyttelton!
Through science, technology, social sciences, and art, our learners explored the importance of oceans, investigated marine ecosystems, and discovered how all living things are connected. They also learned how scientific and indigenous knowledge can work together to help us understand and care for our environment.
A huge thank you to Blue Cradle and James for such an engaging and inspiring experience. Our learners came away with new knowledge, curiosity, and a deeper appreciation for our oceans.

On Friday (last week), the students of La Découverte at Tuia Burnside Primary School were delighted to attend the closing celebration of the French Immersion Day at the University of Canterbury.
Together with our friends from L’Aurore at Haeata Community Campus, we enjoyed an afternoon of singing and dancing inspired by this year's theme, Tahiti. It was wonderful to reconnect and celebrate French language and culture alongside students from across Canterbury.
Quelle belle expérience !

Last week, we were proud to support and celebrate the students from Tuia Burnside Primary School who qualified for Zones through their outstanding efforts in cross country.
We are incredibly proud of the effort, determination, and sportsmanship they showed throughout the day. The students gave their best, supported one another, and represented our bilingual unit with pride.
Congratulations to all of the students who qualified and participated, what a fantastic achievement!
Thank you to the staff and whānau who supported our runners and helped make the experience such a positive one.

Today at Tuia Burnside Primary our whole school came together to celebrate Pink Shirt Day 💗
Together, we celebrated kindness, inclusion, friendship, and standing up against bullying. It was wonderful to see our tamariki proudly dressed in pink and supporting such an important message.
In our class, we encourage our students to be kind, respectful, and caring, in both English and French 🇬🇧🇫🇷!!!
